We
woke up today ready for a long day of work. They crew ate a healthy breakfast
and we were off to work helping the North Shore UU Church. Everyone was assigned to different tasks by
members of the church. One group of students was asked to fill in holes in the
gravel road and parking lot around the church. Another group was asked to trim
bushes and rake leaves on the front patio of the church. There is a fire pit at
the church and we brought all the clippings and debris over to burn. There is
also a swing set that built by previous BC High students at the church with a
sandbox. We took the sand and spread it out around the swing set for the kids.
The gutters around the church also needed better drainage so we dug trenches
for the gutter extensions. Although that required pulling up lots of roots, we
got them in the ground. Our work for the church came to an end by tending to
the fire we started earlier and feeding the last of the debris to it.
A
huge thanks to Judy, Julie, Nick and Bonnie from North Shore UU Church for
working with us today!
We took a trip to the Big Branch Marsh, in a bit of rain.
Frozen custard in Mandeville topped off a busy day!
